New Compact Wolke m600® Touch for Pharmaceutical And Life Science
Easy-to-Use, Touchscreen Thermal inkjet Printer Delivers Maximum Uptime
WOOD DALE, Ill. — August 7, 2012 — Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, today announced the launch of the Wolke m600 touch thermal inkjet printer – built to meet the unique coding and marking needs of pharmaceutical and life science users. With a controller cabinet measuring less than half the size of its closest competitors, the compact Wolke m600 touch greatly facilitates packaging line and machine integration. The m600 touch features a large 8.4 inch color touchscreen interface with intuitive menu navigation for easy operation.
“The Wolke m600 touch represents a step-change improvement from the highly successful m600 advanced thermal inkjet printer,” said Chris Riley, Business Unit Manager, Pharmaceutical, for Videojet. “Operators can benefit from the state-of-the-art touchscreen interface, which is designed for simplicity of operation and to quickly update the operator on all key performance parameters.”
Built for Pharmaceutical Applications
With an intuitive 8.4 inch color touchscreen interface, the 8510 allows operators to quickly and easily ascertain the status of the printer, verify the print job currently loaded and check cartridge ink levels and other production line data – all from the home screen. Features of the 8510 touchscreen mimic consumer computing devices so operators benefit from the graphical user interface, which includes easy-to-learn icon-based controls. In addition, maintenance of the 8510 is as easy as wiping the printhead when it becomes dirty and replacing the empty ink cartridge when it runs out. Cartridge changes take less than one minute so packaging operations avoid costly downtime, remaining operational and more productive.
Eliminate Coding Errors
Designed to address complex pharmaceutical coding and marking requirements, the Wolke m600 touch can easily manage the demands of high speed data handling and printing that is common in serialization applications. With available IQ and OQ documentation, the Wolke m600 touch is validation-ready to facilitate pharmaceutical customers’ compliance efforts.
IIdeal for Packaging Line & OEM Machinery Integration
The Wolke m600 touch compact size controller and multiple low profile printhead options allow for quick installation into packaging lines and aid integration with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) machinery. In addition, with built-in webserver functionality, the m600 touch permits menu navigation from the human machine interface (HMI) on a customer’s OEM packaging machinery – helping simplify processes and saving valuable time for operators.
Adds Riley: “Videojet and Wolke understand the challenging demands of the pharmaceutical industry. The Wolke m600 touch is specifically designed to maximize the advantages of HP® printing technology and provide a best-in-class operator interface. The m600 touch delivers maximum uptime so our customers can focus on their packaging operations and be as productive as possible.”
